Kitschy Sure Thing Wedding & Wine Hearse Mini Reception

Liz and BJ’s Sure Thing wedding and Wine Hearse mini reception was colorful, kitschy, and completely untraditional—in the absolute best way. The two described their vision as John Waters inspired, and their day absolutely delivered. They went with a digital photo package plus a film and Polaroid add-on (because of course they did—these two get it). It was the kind of celebration that didn’t need to follow any rules to feel unforgettable!

Liz & BJ’s Kitschy Sure Thing Wedding in Las Vegas

Liz and BJ’s Sure Thing wedding ceremony was the perfect mix of fun and kitschy magic. They brought along a small crew of family and friends who added to the energy and made the whole thing feel like one big party. Lady Elvis officiated (because of course) and fully delivered with sparkle, sass, and all the vintage Vegas flair.

And the outfits? Absolutely nailed it. BJ wore a badass custom embroidered tan suit with bold red florals, a cowboy hat, and boots that pulled the whole look together. Liz showed up in the cutest marabou-trimmed mini dress, long gloves, baby blue eyeshadow, and a hot pink bouquet by Lucid Juliet. It was colorful, untraditional, and the perfect fits for a Vegas wedding.

A Colorful Sure Thing Chapel Wine Hearse Mini Reception

After the ceremony wrapped, everyone made their way behind the chapel for one of my favorite add-ons that Sure Thing offers: the Wine Hearse mini reception. It’s a cozy, tucked-away setup hosted by Lauren (@touvelle), who’s also the Lady Elvis for Sure Thing Chapel. She rolls in with her custom wine hearse (yes, it’s literally a hearse) and serves up a curated selection of natural wine and champagne.

This part of the day always feels extra special. It’s slower, more intimate. Friends and family get a chance to mingle, the couple gets to breathe, and the champagne starts flowing. The hearse itself is kind of a showstopper being decked out in flames with a red neon “‘til death” sign.

These two were fully in their element. From the floral suit and fluffy heels to the hot pink bouquet resting on the casket-turned-bar, every detail just worked. It was weird and wonderful and super cool—in that way Vegas does best!

Why a Sure Thing Wedding and a Wine Hearse Mini Reception Might Just Be The Move

If you’re dreaming up a wedding that’s fun, full of intention, and screams Vegas, Sure Thing Chapel is the move. It’s a space that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still somehow manages to be stylish, intimate, and cool as hell. This wedding took place at the original location, but they’ve since opened up Sure Thing Too—a dreamy, baby-blue chapel with just as much vintage flair. I put together a full guide to help you decide if it’s the right vibe: Sure Thing Chapel Too: Your Vegas Wedding Guide.

And honestly? Whether you’re drawn to the OG chapel or the new one, adding on the Wine Hearse mini reception is such a solid call. It gives you and your people a chance to actually slow down and celebrate with natural wine, champagne, and a literal hearse turned bar. Only in Vegas.

If you’re into all of that and you're someone who values the experience just as much as the photos, then we’re probably a great match. I work with couples who love film, who want their wedding to feel like a moment in time (not just a shoot), and who aren’t afraid to do things differently.

You can learn more about me here, and if you think we’d vibe, reach out and inquire. I’d seriously love to hear what you’re planning. Want more wedding inspo? Check out the blog for more elopements and love stories in Las Vegas and beyond. I travel often, and I’m always down to document something rad!
