A Sweet Micro Wedding Reception At Velveteen Rabbit | Las Vegas, NV

A Velveteen Rabbit Las Vegas wedding reception is such a fun way to celebrate in the city, and Amy and Ray’s day was the perfect example of why. One of my favorite parts about being a Las Vegas wedding and elopement photographer is getting to meet couples from all over the world, and these two traveled all the way from Ireland to celebrate here. They met while teaching at the same school in Kuwait and started getting to know each other through shared car rides to work with mutual friends while bonding over Marvel movies and good food along the way.

They tied the knot at Sure Thing Chapel before heading to Velveteen Rabbit for a reception that felt cutesy, moody, and full of color. It was the celebration that fit their story and personalities so well!

Amy & Ray’s Sure Thing Chapel Wedding

Amy and Ray’s Las Vegas micro wedding at Sure Thing Chapel was intimate and fun, with around 30 guests who gathered for a 4pm ceremony. They booked The Whole Shebang package, which meant we had time to really lean into everything that makes this chapel special! We did portraits throughout the space, moments with their people, and all the little in-between moments that happen when you’re not rushing the timeline.

One of the things couples love most about Sure Thing is how much variety you get without having to leave the building. We moved from the ceremony space to the photobooth, snapped photos in the iconic baby blue bathroom, hung out by the record player, and captured candid moments all throughout the chapel. After portraits, we all headed off to celebrate at their Velveteen Rabbit Las Vegas wedding reception.

Amy and Ray’s ceremony took place at the original Sure Thing Chapel, but if you’re curious about the newer location, I have a full Sure Thing Chapel Too guide that breaks everything down!

A Moody Velveteen Rabbit Las Vegas Wedding Reception

After their ceremony and portraits at Sure Thing Chapel, Amy and Ray headed straight to their Las Vegas micro wedding reception at the Velveteen Rabbit, with the reception kicking off right at 5pm. It was the perfect transition from an intimate chapel ceremony into a party with their people.

Velveteen Rabbit is such a solid option for couples planning a Las Vegas micro wedding reception because it’s cozy and intentional without feeling over the top. Inside, everyone gathered around the long wooden bar surrounded by vintage furniture and an art projection wall that adds texture and mood to the space. Outside they have the Pink Palace Patio which was decorated with pastel details and a colorful floral mural wall.

Amy and Ray leaned all the way into making the reception feel interactive and fun. Guests sipped on craft cocktails while playing custom games and signed the guest phone book throughout the evening. Velveteen Rabbit also treated everyone to sorbet and rosé, which adds almost a cute Vegas-meets-garden-party touch!

One of the biggest highlights of the night was the tarot card reader, Priestess Pamela, who did tarot readings for guests. The vintage heart cake from Winston Marie Cakes tied everything together visually (and deliciously) and felt so on-brand for the space. From the signature drink signs to the personal details throughout the room, this Las Vegas micro wedding reception felt personal and so true to Amy and Ray!

Kind Words From Amy & Ray:

“5 stars - We are absolutely thrilled with our wedding photos from Cruz Valentin! She is such a cool lady - funny, relaxed, and genuinely a joy to be around. It honestly felt like having a friend take our pictures rather than a photographer, which made the whole experience so comfortable and fun (even though we’re not naturals in front of the camera!).

Cruz captured both our ceremony at Sure Thing Wedding Chapel and our reception at Velveteen Rabbit, and the photos are just incredible. She was endlessly creative, finding unique, artistic shots that still feel natural and true to us. We’ve had so many people tell us they are the coolest wedding photos they’ve ever seen.

She also worked seamlessly with the Velveteen Rabbit team - together they were a literal dream team and helped everything run so smoothly.

We couldn’t be happier with the results or the experience. If you want someone who will make you laugh, keep you at ease, and deliver unforgettable photos, Cruz is the one ❤️❤️❤️”
