Dreamy and Nostalgic sunset Elopement on 35mm Film

Rawan and Samuel’s 35mm film elopement in Vegas was everything—dreamy, nostalgic, and full of that vintage charm we all love so much. There’s just something about capturing love on film, especially in a place like Las Vegas where retro signs, neon lights, and old-school vibes are everywhere you turn.

From their sweet ceremony and portraits at Sure Thing Chapel to popping champagne downtown and wrapping things up at Binion’s Rooftop and Carousel Bar—this elopement was nonstop fun and full of personality. Film made every moment feel extra special, and honestly, I’m still not over it.

Rawan + Samuel’s 35mm film elopement in vegas at sure thing chapel

There’s just something about 35mm film that makes a Vegas elopement feel even more timeless, and Rawan and Samuel’s day at Sure Thing Chapel was everything. The velvet curtains and pink heart backdrops gives the kind of vintage Vegas energy that just makes you want to stay awhile. Rawan wore a sparkly off-the-shoulder gown with long gloves and the dreamiest lace veil, while Samuel’s emerald green Western suit brought all the cool. These two looked like they walked out of a mid-century movie—especially when paired with their details.

The bouquet was a mix of pinks and reds, wrapped in tulle and a silky bow, and their cake? Total showstopper. That heart-shaped cutie was made by Winston Marie Cakes, who I partner with to bring couples an easy add-on option for their elopements. You don’t have to worry about a thing—just share your preferences and I’ll handle the rest. The cake becomes a fun photo moment, a sweet treat after vows, and a little nod to tradition.

After their ceremony and a quick spin in the photo booth (a must at Sure Thing), we headed out front to shoot with the chapel’s red convertible. It’s the ultimate Vegas prop. It’s equal parts kitsch and classic. Add in a sparkling gown, retro car, and that golden hour glow, and this film Vegas elopement was a total dream from start to finish!

Downtown Fremont Street elopement photos + Drinks at Carousel Bar

After their ceremony at Sure Thing Chapel, we took the celebration downtown for even more portraits on Fremont Street. The energy there is electric with the glowing casino signs, dice-shaped lights, and vintage marquees. We also made a quick stop at Binion’s Casino for some dreamy rooftop views and quiet moments that balanced out the wildness below.

To wrap up the night, we headed to Carousel Bar—the ultimate spot for cake, cocktails, and a little post-ceremony buzz. Rawan and Samuel shared their heart-shaped cake, toasted with drinks, and ended things in true Vegas fashion with a champagne pop on Fremont. Every bit of it was shot on 35mm film, giving the whole night a nostalgic, cinematic feel that fit their vibe perfectly.

If you’re dreaming up your own film Vegas elopement, this is your sign to say yes to downtown lights, retro rooftops, and a little late-night sparkle!

Sweet Words From Rawan + Samuel

"Absolutely amazing experience, Cruz captured our day perfectly, we went with the 3 hour film and the pictures turned out beautifully even though it was dark."

Why a Film Vegas Elopement Might Be Exactly What You’re Looking For

Las Vegas is made for elopements. It’s wild, romantic, spontaneous, and full of character—everything a wedding day should be. Whether you’re exchanging vows in a kitschy chapel, dancing under a disco ball, or popping champagne on Fremont Street, the city gives you permission to do things your way.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I love capturing Vegas elopements on 35mm film. There’s something magical about film. It feels honest, emotional, and nostalgic in a way digital just can’t replicate. (If you’re curious, I go deeper into this in my ‘Digital vs. 35mm Film Photography blog.) The imperfections, the grain, the way it captures light. It’s timeless.

As a Las Vegas elopement photographer, I’m here for the couples who want to break the rules, keep it stylish, and still have the most meaningful day ever. My photography style blends documentary storytelling with a touch of editorial flair—cool, romantic, and full of feeling. If you’re into vintage vibes, heartfelt moments, and photos that actually feel like you, I think we’ll get along just fine, my friends!
