Neon Museum Las Vegas Wedding: Not Your Typical Chapel

One thing about being a Las Vegas elopement photographer is that I get to photograph in places that all feel completely different from each other, and The Neon Museum is one that always sticks with me.

If you’re planning a Neon Museum Las Vegas wedding, just know this is not your typical Vegas chapel. There’s isn’t a clean aisle or perfectly styled backdrop, and definitely no pressure. It’s colorful and full of history, and yet still really romantic.

You’ve got old signs stacked on top of each other with colors that have faded over time, and pieces of Vegas that weren’t meant to live in the same place now just existing together. If you’re the kind of couple who wants something that feels less traditional, then a Neon Museum wedding might be what you’re looking for!

What Is the Neon Museum in Las Vegas?

The Neon Museum is an outdoor space, sometimes called the “Neon Boneyard,” where old Las Vegas signs are preserved from hotels, casinos, and other businesses that are no longer around.

But it doesn’t feel like a museum in the traditional sense. Some signs don’t light up anymore or are worn down, and everything is kind of layered together in a way that feels unstructured but still intentional.

It feels like Vegas history, just not cleaned up. And when it comes to photography, it gives you a mix of color and texture that you just can’t really get anywhere else in the city.

Can You Get Married at the Neon Museum?

Yes, but how you use the space can look a little different depending on what kind of day you’re planning.

Some couples go all in and have their ceremony here, while some use it more as a photo location after getting married somewhere else.

Both work, it just depends on what kind of experience you want!

Neon Museum Wedding Packages: What Your Ceremony Can Actually Look Like

If you’re trying to figure out how The Neon Museum actually fits into your day, here’s what that can look like in a real, non-confusing way.

If you’re thinking about having your ceremony at the Neon Museum, they do offer a couple different options depending on the time of day and the kind of experience you’re looking for.

Sweetheart Weddings (Daytime Ceremonies)

This is their daytime ceremony option, and it’s definitely the more classic setup if you’re picturing saying your vows surrounded by the vintage signs.

Ceremonies take place in the North Gallery, which is where a lot of the iconic neon signs live. It’s intimate and works really well if you’re planning something small to mid-sized.

Here’s what you’re working with:

  • These aren’t offered during peak summer months (June through August) because of the heat.

  • There’s built-in bench seating for around 48–50 guests.

  • If you want a more styled setup with chairs or decor, that can be brought in, just with additional planning and fees.

Stardust Weddings (Nighttime Ceremonies)

This is their newer evening option, and it’s more into that bold, Vegas-at-night energy.

You’re still in the North Gallery, but everything feels different once the light drops. The space is enhanced with projection mapping, which basically brings the signs and surroundings to life in a completely different way than daytime.

If you’re want something that feels a little more dramatic, this is usually the direction couples go!

Here’s what you’re working with:

  • Private ceremony in the North Gallery

  • Up to 50 guests

  • About a 60-minute ceremony window

  • Typically available September through May

Ceremony or Just Portraits?

If you’re trying to decide between doing your ceremony here or just using it for photos, it really comes down to how you want your day to feel.

If you love the idea of everything happening in one place and you’re good with a more structured timeline, having your ceremony here can be really special.

But if you want a little more flexibility, or you’re torn between a chapel experience and something more alternative, getting married first and coming here after is usually the best balance.

Why Choose The Neon Museum

I think what draws people to the Neon Museum is that it doesn’t feel like anywhere else in Vegas.

It’s not a ballroom or desert landscape, and it’s definitely not a traditional kitschy Vegas chapel. It’s a little more nostalgic, which ends up creating photos that feel more personal and unique.

You don’t have to bring in a bunch of extra decor or overthink the details because the space already does so much. It’s one of those locations where you can show up and let things happen naturally.

Best Time of Day for Neon Museum Wedding Photos

The lighting here can honestly change the entire feel of your photos, so timing is something to be intentional about.

Golden hour is soft and everything and brings in warmer tones, while earlier in the day feels brighter and a little more contrast heavy. The midday light can actually look really strong if you like something that leans a little more editorial.

Evenings feel the most “Vegas,” especially if you’re into flash. That’s when things start to feel a little more bold and less traditional, which works really well with this setting.

A Real Neon Museum Las Vegas Wedding

If you’re trying to picture how this actually plays out, Erica and Patrick’s Neon Museum wedding is one of my favorites. They kept things intentional and very them, moving through a few different Vegas spots and ending the night with cake and champagne under the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign.

What to Wear for a Neon Museum Las Vegas Wedding

Ok, I really love this question, because outfits here don’t need to follow any kind of traditional rules, which is part of what makes it fun. And yes, the same can be said for most places in Vegas, but even more so at The Neon Museum.

You can lean into stronger styling choices without it feeling like it’s too much. Dark tones or clean whites, or even bold colors all work really well here.

Texture also makes a huge difference. Leather, silk, lace, or anything that adds a little dimension or texture also photograph really nicely here.

And if you’re thinking about adding accessories like a veil, gloves, a leather jacket, or even sunglasses, this is absolutely the place to do it!

Timing & What to Expect

The Neon Museum is pretty specific about how sessions run and where movement is allowed, so it’s not a completely free-roam location. That isn’t a bad thing, it just means we need to go in with a plan so we can use the time well.

If we’re pairing this with a ceremony earlier in the day, we can build your timeline around that so nothing feels rushed or crammed together.

Tips for Planning Your Neon Museum Las Vegas Wedding

If you’re thinking about including the Neon Museum in your day, a little planning makes everything feel smoother.

Booking your time slot earlier gives you more flexibility with lighting, and building in some buffer time between your ceremony and photos helps keep things relaxed instead of rushed.

More than anything, this location works the best when you don’t try to make it feel too perfect. It’s not supposed to be. When you let it be what it is, everything comes together in a way that feels a lot more natural.

Meet Cruz, Your Neon Museum Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

Hello hello, I’m Cruz! I’m a Las Vegas wedding and elopement photographer, and I’m really drawn to places like the Neon Museum that already have so much personality built in. My work leans into the rad, moody, candidly romantic, and a little nostalgic. My goal is to document your day in a way that actually feels like you were there.

I love working with couples who aren’t looking for something traditional. The ones who want something that feels a little more real, expressive, and not like a copy of anyone else’s wedding. The Neon Museum fits that energy perfectly, especially if you’re into something bold and full of personality.

And if you’re into film photography, I also offer 35mm and Super 8, which pair so well with this space and add another layer of nostalgia to your day.

If this sounds like your kind of experience and you vibe with my work, I’d love to hear from you. You can inquire with me here, or check out more of my portfolio to see how I document days like this!
